Consultation and release of WorldGBC's strategy for the built environment movement - 'Sustainable Buildings for Everyone, Everywhere'

  • Published on December 15, 2020
The WorldGBC global network has co-created these targets through a global consultation with our members and partners. We believe these milestones for the built environment are key for establishing the vital trajectory for a sustainable future and we encourage industry alignment. The Strategy 2020-22 document was launched on 1st September 2020 across the World Green Building Council network. Using the Global Goals for Sustainable Development (SDGs) and climate science recommendations as a foundation, our strategy supports our network to lead and drive transformative and regenerative change in the built environment across three strategic impact areas: Climate Action, Health & Wellbeing, and Resources & Circularity. The strategy includes the publication of 'North Star Goals' under three Impact Areas. These set high level vision for three areas of sustainability that the building and construction value chain can consider goals for the movement.
Surveys of the WorldGBC global network have demonstrated that 96% of the network support and/or are aligning to the targets and ambition of the North Star Goals.
