2020 Passive Ultra-Low Energy Building Certification

  • Published on January 6, 2021
China implemented the "Technical Standard for Nearly Zero Energy Buildings" in 2019, and the China Association of Building Energy Efficiency issued the "Evaluation standard for nearly zero energy buildings" in the same year. This is the first time that China has issued technical standards at the national level to regulate NZEBs. It is urgent to establish a whole set of evaluation system to test and evaluate the demonstration projects in the future. The main goals of this activity is to standardize the overall operation status of the NZEBs.
In 2020, China Passive Building Alliance certificated 21 projects NZEB demonstration projects and during the past 5 years, 115 projects have been awarded with a total area of more than 2.3 million square meters, covering all types of climate in China. In the future, more than 1000 projects will apply for the certification and a detailed NZEB database will be established, all the certified building running data will be recorded.
