  • The main objective of the project is to reduce youth unemployment by creating green jobs on islands
  • Four thematic areas are addressed in job creation: energy efficiency, renewables, sustainable tourism, and mobility
  • The project will work with participants of the target groups in an elaborate process to equip and prepare the young people for employment in green jobs

The project YENESIS – Youth Employment Network for Energy Sustainability in Islands, aims to address the challenge of unemployment of young professionals of 25-29 years of age (19-29 in Estonia’s case) not in education, employment, or training (NEETs) residing on islands of the beneficiary states.

In order to guarantee the sustainability of future employment, the project focuses on energy and environmentally sustainable occupations which not only are deemed to be necessary and highly sought for in the coming years, but will also ensure sustainability in the grand scheme of things.

The Yenesis project also includes an educational programme on business innovation and the following thematic areas:

·       a mobility scheme

·       a mentoring scheme

·       a final stage where participants will work on projects offered by local, regional and national authorities for 6 months
