Trust EPC South
The Trust EPC South project aims to increase investment in Energy Efficiency in the private tertiary sector, by providing a framework for assessing and benchmarking investments and by reinforcing the confidence of stakeholders and investors in setting up Energy Performance Contracts (EPC). 40 pilot projects were selected in the six countries, including ten in France. ENERGIES 2050, lead Partner in the country, offers support to the latter to improve their level of energy efficiency.
The Trust EPC South project aims to increase investment in Energy Efficiency (EE) and renewable energy (RE) in the private tertiary sector, by providing a framework for assessing and benchmarking investments and by reinforcing the confidence of stakeholders and investors in setting up Energy Performance Contracts (EPC). This project is implemented by an international and interdisciplinary consortium in six countries: Croatia, France, Spain, Greece, Italy and Portugal.
As part of this project, 40 pilot projects were selected in the six countries, including ten in France. ENERGIES 2050 offers free support to the latter to set up a plan to improve their level of energy efficiency and / or use of renewable energy. The objective is to apply the methodologies and tools developed to meet the market constraints in terms of energy efficiency and EPC.
The project thus aims to contribute to the shift towards more sustainable modes of consumption and production through the reduction of energy use in tertiary buildings and through an enhanced use of renewable energy.
To reach the objectives set, a wide range of activities have been carried on, aiming to tackle the roadblocks to EE market development. These activities include:
• Markets’ assessments of energy efficiency potential in the tertiary sectors of the six participating countries, and potential for EPC development, using desk based research and interviews with key stakeholders
• Setting up national discussion platforms, gathering the main stakeholders of the national EPC market (asset owners, EPC providers and facilitators, funding institutions, regulatory bodies) to build concertation and enhance synergies and opportunities
• Using a standardised approach to energy efficiency in the tertiary sector, through the development of the GREPCON tool, a robust investment assessment and benchmarking tool based on the existing Green RatingTM methodology
• The promotion of EPCs through 40 pilot projects at European level (10 in France) to test the methodologies developed and enhance the use of EPC and other solutions applied to concrete projects.
• The setting up of capacity building programmes and materials, supported by 3 sessions in each of the 6 countries involved, dedicated to asset owners, ESCOs and financial institutions.
