Sweden - Innovation Competition LYS

We have been instructed by the government to conduct a focus on innovation procurement in the field of environmental technology. It will take the form of innovation contests and towards the procuring parties. The competition will be conducted in stages. Identified needs for innovations in local government have been done. Based on these, participants call for the competition. A range of innovations are made ​​and winners are selected. The winners get the opportunity to test their innovations in test beds and will then receive support to make business plans.
The project aims to (1) engage innovators to introduce innovations in the field of climate-efficient technology that can be introduced to appropriate owners Västerås and Eskilstuna municipality, (2) bring innovation into use mainly through testbed activities in the city of Västerås and Eskilstuna municipality and that (3 ) increase skills and logic to work with innovation contests. The goal is to receive at least 12 entries and appoint at least 4 winners. The competition includes four categories in which innovations are called for: (1) Climate smart outdoor lighting, (2) Climate smart-Indoor Lighting (3) System for solar shading and (4) the collection and visualization of energy use. Expected impact of the innovation contest is to (1) increase the rate of new solutions in climate-effective technologies to reach their market, (2) increased innovation capacity of the city of Västerås and Eskilstuna municipality through participation in innovation processes in areas where municipalities are in need of new solutions, and (3) the needs of municipalities in the areas described in this competition are solved in an efficient manner.
