Sweden - Bees and beehives give a greener outdoor environment

Stockholmshem collaborating since 2012 with Bee Urban who takes care of seven hives with nearly 250,000 bees. Bees in cities contributes to greener outdoor environments, more vegetation and more opportunities to grow vegetables and flowers in our neighborhoods.

Bees are important for biodiversity because they pollinate plants and vegetables that animals and people eat. Here are the hives if you want to look at them: • Förmansvägen 20, Årstadal • Brännkyrkagatan 131, Södermalm • Sköldgatan 7-13, Södermalm • Schlytersvägen 16, Aspudden • Aspholmsvägen, courtyard above the center, Skärholmen • Cigarrvägen 14, Hökarängen • Åsögatan, courtyard towards Rosenlund Park, Södermalm Bees can help to even more verdure on the farms and the potential for cultivation on balconies.
