Reference Center on Short Supply Chain

A “Reference Center on short supply chain” has been set up in June 2013 in order to assist SMEs willing to be involved in short supply chains. The Center acts as contact point to connect the different stakeholders, gives advices and shares good practices. This project is supported by the Walloon Government and in particular by the Minister of Sustainable development and the Minister of Economy.
Assist SMEs willing to be involved in short supply chains The Center acts as contact point to connect the different stakeholders, gives advices and shares good practices. Four “referents” interact with the center and implement its actions towards their respective audience: - The Middle Class Union (UCM) towards the SMEs and the federations ; - Inter-Environment Wallonia towards citizens; - The social economy Federation (SAW-B) towards social economy enterprises and the members of SAW-B; - Diversiferm towards farmers (it consists of a one-stop shop to assist the farmers in their diversification activities). - Training of business promotion advisers on short supply chains - number of trained advisers - Short supply chain meetings in Wallonia - number of participants - Network events - number of events / number of participants - Elaboration of methodological tools and in particular: o Technical sheets for the setting up of collective processing plants (dairy and fruit/vegetable sectors). o Datasheets for the calculation of the cost price in the dairy processing sector First actions underway following the definition and validation of the 2013-2015 Action Plan and the program of activities for 2014 Development of a structural policy to support short supply chains in the framework of the objective set in the Regional Declaration Policy 2014-2019.
