The postgraduate course is taught since 2017 at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina and is repeated every six months.
The course is proposed in 5 modules, which dynamically and progressively expose different topics of importance to be worked on sustainability. The different modules continuously relate data, concepts, theoretical content and different concrete and current examples, offering participants a clear interpretation of how different sustainable improvements are implemented in different fields.
Each module is presented with motivating examples and images that allow to stimulate and understand how different relevant cases of study were developed, using as a material resource in ppt and analysis of cases.
In each module, different personalities of business sustainability or NGO are invited to share their experiences.
At present we are facing social, economic, technological and environmental changes that continually challenge us, which requires that our projects are in constant growth and transformation to be at the forefront. We seek directly or indirectly to make our performance more efficient, and for this it is necessary to know and incorporate opportunities in terms of sustainability.
To understand what we are talking about when we talk about sustainability, what variables are taken into account, which aspects are of most relevance, what projections are being addressed and the different solutions that are taken in other organizations, allows us to observe an action map to incorporate improvements aligned to sustainability, which multiply the variables used in the traditional management of product and system development.
Knowledge is power, decision power, power of action, power of improvement. It is useless not to meet demands, which sooner or later, will require national or international markets. It is a question of time, and understanding how sustainability works will give us the necessary understanding to expand our power of thought and decision, improving systemically our proposals.
This new vision rethinks our roles within the activity we develop, whether as professionals, technicians, specialists, entrepreneurs; promotes the reformulation of production and consumption models in all areas of intervention: production, logistics, strategy, processes, spaces, etc.
This systemic and integrative approach requires the participation of all the actors that intervene throughout the life cycle of the product / system, from suppliers, executives, to end users and employees, which resignifies the multidisciplinary vision of our activity, as well as the different strategies for boarding and linking.
"The Sustainable Strategic Design is related to the ability to provide sustainable solutions through the generation of products, services and knowledge that allow companies, individuals or communities to achieve sustainable methods and results with a low intensity of consumption of resources and high efficiency in the search of quality of life "(Manzini, 2006). Our motivation is to offer and offer this specialization course in other sectors, both educational and corporate. We are open to disseminate it where required.
