IDF WDS 2018 conference on environment: Dairy - intersection of nutritional benefits and environment: sustainable perspective
The dairy sector demonstrated their global expertise at the IDF World Dairy Summit 2018 which bore the theme ‘Dairy for the Next Generation!’. The international speakers outlined the dairy sector’s contribution to nutrition and health; food security and safety; as well as sustainability.
During the International Dairy Federation World Dairy Summit 2018, delegates participated on a discussion on how milk and dairy products are a sustainable food source for the next generation.
South Korea hosted the IDF World Dairy Summit 2018 in Daejeon from 15-19 October with the theme ‘Dairy for the Next Generation!’
The annual event drew more than 1,500 delegates worldwide, including dairy experts, academics and government officials, as well as those involved in the dairy value chain such as producers, processors and marketing specialists.
Former UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon, was the Keynote Speaker at the Opening session of the IDF WDS in Daejeon.
During the conference there was a dedicated session to discuss the interconnection between nutrition and sustainability:

The IDF WDS 2019 will continue the conversation around sustainable diets and how dairy can contribute to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals. We will discuss sustainability challenges and opportunities for the dairy sector as well as dairy sector strategy on food loss and food waste. This annual international event brought together more than 1,500 delegates from around the world to discuss issues of interest in the dairy sector. Dairy producers, processors, experts, academics and policy makers exchanged ideas on topical issues in science, technology and innovation at this multi-stakeholder platform.
