HINN-TverrGlu
Since 2017 the UNESCO Chair and CCL have been leading a project to implement three interdisciplinary themes into the primary school teacher education at the Faculty of Teacher Education and Pedagogy at Inland University of Applied Sciences. The three interdisciplinary themes (Sustainable Development, Democracy and Citizenship and Public Health and Life Skills) were identified after Norway undertook a curriculum review in 2018/2019. The project undertook a pilot study during the semester years 17/18 and 18/19. During 2019/2020 the project is no longer in its pilot phases and has tried building a structure to establish a long-term model for this work. The work will continue in 2021-2022.
CCL continues the project of integrating the interdisciplinary themes in the Master of Primary and Lower Secondary Teacher Education at Høgskolen i Innlandet. The project interdisciplinary themes in teacher education, hereinafter referred to as TverrGLU is relevant with the introduction of subject renewal in basic education in the autumn of 2020. The project TverrGLU has had a good development from the pilot phase to a more solid structure, with clearer roots in courses and course descriptions throughout the academic year 19/20. The teaching is organized with the goal of active learning among the students. This is in addition to the students developing competence in active learning as a method. The work is linked to the interdisciplinary themes in the subject renewal; sustainable development, democracy and citizenship as well as public health and life skills.
