Food recovery activities in farmers market in Chile

Corporación Actuemos, in collaboration with the Facultad Tecnológica of the Universidad de Santiago de Chile, has developed a series of food recovery activities in farmers market, and has prepared healthy lunches and snacks using these foods to feed low-income families.
To achieve this, the Actuemos team has trained students from the University of Santiago to teach them food recovery and food preparation techniques.

Rescue food destined to be discarded due to its appearance and make healthy preparations for low-income people.

Train university students in food rescue and processing techniques.

Educate and sensitize the community on the importance of avoiding and reducing food waste. In one year we recovered more than 900 kilos of food.
We trained about 50 students from the Facultad Tecnológica of the Universidad de Santiago de Chile.
