Environment Delegate Manual- Manuel du Délégué pour l’Environnement

  • Published on August 13, 2014
The Environment Delegate Manual is an operational tool the CNTPP center developed in order to help companies comply with national and international environmental policies. According to national regulation, companies must designate an environment delegate to ensure the company's activities comply with the environmental regulations. The CNTPP manual has the objective to introduce to these managers their role and responsibilities, and to guide them on how they should develop these responsibilities. The managers are trained in a first stage for the proper use of the manual.
• Clarify and detail to the environment delegates the regulatory requirements their companies are subject to in the national and international regulatory frameworks. • Capacity Building for environment delegates in order to enable them to take on their assignments in the framework of current national regulation. - Organisation of more than 30 workshops and training sessions for environment delegates on the use of the first edition of the manual. - Organisation of more than 50 workshops and training sessions on the use of the second edition of the manual. - The second edition was published in 2009. The third edition, which includes sustainable consumption and production tools, air emissions calculation tools and information on the regulatory framework on Health and labour safety, will be available from October 2014 on. - The CNTPP foresees to train between 1500 and 2000 environment delegates in the next three years (2014-2017). The manual was well received and implemented by companies. - CNTPP achieved the training of about 800 environment delegates to use the first edition of the environment delegate manual. The manual was well received and implemented by companies. As companies expressed the need of having the contents of the manual extended to other tools (National environmental regulation, waste managers certified by the Ministry of environment…), the second edition of the environmental manager manual was elaborated, and more than 1200 environment delegates were trained to use it. -Following the training, several companies (more than 150) have informed of the nomination of their environment delegate (for those who hadn't designated their environment delegate yet), some (about 20) have informed about them beginning the process of implementing an Environment Management System (and/or integrated environment management system), and several companies have shared their experience in the implementation of good practices and cleaner production techniques. - The third edition, which includes sustainable consumption and production tools, air emissions calculation tools and information on the regulatory framework on Health and labour safety, will be available from October 2014 on. - The CNTPP foresees to train between 1500 and 2000 environment delegates in the next three years (2014-2017).
