Curricular Advisory on Energy Efficiency for Higher Education Institutions

The objective of the initiative is to provide on-site and distance counselling to higher education institutions of technical and professional training in the development and updating of study programs in the field of energy and energy efficiency, and to develop training activities in design and curricular update topics in different disciplines related to Energy Efficiency within the framework of these consultancies. In this way, it is expected to achieve the development of competencies that allow future professionals, in their daily work, to include energy efficiency criteria in making decisions related to their work profile, which allow to make an efficient use of energy in their scope of performance.
This successful program has been developed since 2015 and has covered 6 regions of the country, with 12 Universities (state or private) and 2 Technical Training Centers. This is broken down into 6 Technical Careers, 8 Undergraduate Careers, 2 Undergraduate Courses and 1 Post Graduate Program. In addition, 15 Technical Training Centers of the State have been advised, which is a new initiative at the governmental level. The methodology developed has a high potential of replicability to promote transversal content of public interest related to the decision making of future professionals, through competency models. The methodology is flexible and can be adapted to different higher education programs according to the characteristics of each program. It is an innovative project. No similar initiatives have been found internationally.
