Centre for Responsible Business projects on Sustainable Palm oil

Centre for Responsible Business (CRB) has continued its partnership with Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) in India to promote uptake of certified sustainable palm oil across industries and building awareness across organisations.
1) Sustainability Ambassadors This project aims to identify some of the few champions on this issue from among various stakeholder groups in India (CGM, processors, importers, producers, financial institutions, NGOs, research organisations, etc.) to highlight the need for and opportunities from uptake of sustainable palm oil (production and consumption). Objective: • Strengthen the demand for sustainable palm oil supply chains further and promote ‘businesses commitment and action towards certified sustainable palm oil in India’ 2) I-SPOC I-SPOC is a business led multi-stakeholder initiative created with the goal of promoting sustainable consumption, import and trade of palm oil and its derivatives along the supply chain. Objective: • Create broader awareness on sustainability issues within industry and among consumers • To advocate for and create a conducive policy environment and regulations for sustainable palm oil uptake 3) Youth Fellowship for Sustainable Palm Oil (YfS) CRB designed and conceptualized a Youth Fellowship for Sustainable Palm Oil (YfS). The objective of this programme rolled out in February 2020 is to offer one of its kind opportunities to youth (young professionals between 18 years to 25 years to take charge by engaging and shaping the sustainability/SDG agenda based on their own ideas and actions. Objective: • To spread awareness and create leadership among youth to support a transition towards sustainable palm oil • Greater awareness on sustainable palm oil among all stakeholders • Better collaboration between businesses, government, palm oil producing nations, etc. to green the palm oil supply chain • Creation of a better policy framework (national and international) governing the consumption, production and trade of palm oil
