The action plan address the following key challenges: - Improving the environmental sustainability of tourism in Croatia - Empowerment of tourism valorization of nature heritage • reducing the environmental footprint of the tourism sector • reducing operational costs (waste management, energy, water consumption and deployment of green technologies and procedures, improving management processes, certification, etc.) • improving the tourism management in protected areas • raising awareness about the importance of natural heritage • promoting and developing of innovative and competitive special interests tourism
