SOUTH AFRICA's REVISED NATIONAL BIODIVERSITY FRAMEWORK (2019-2024)

  • Published on March 5, 2023

The framework provides for an integrated, coordinated and uniform approach to biodiversity management by all organs of state, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), the private sector and communities. It is therefore supportive of sustainable use of biodiversity by present and future generations.

Implementation of the National Biodiversity Framework is guided by the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (2015-2025), which promotes conservation of biological diversity, sustainable use of its components, and a fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising from genetic resources.
