The National Waste Management Plan for 2014-2020
The aim of the National Waste Management Plan for 2014-2020 (thereinafter - the Plan) is to set strategic goals for waste management till 2020, also tasks and measures necessary for the achievement of the set goals, the national waste management tasks and waste management tasks for municipalities, national and the European Union structural support funding trends and the evaluation criteria for the implementation of the Plan.
The Plan determines a long-term strategic waste management goal which is to reduce the quantities of generated waste, ensure waste management safe to human health and the environment as well as a rational use of waste material and energy resources, thus reducing the use of natural and other resources and waste disposal in landfills. The Plan consists of waste management targets which have to be achieved until the end of 2020. Also the Plan consists of measures necessary for the achievement of the set targets and at the same time contribute to the achievement of the long-term goal (please see the paragraph above).
