National Strategy and Action Plan for Sustainable Consumption and Production, Jamaica

The Government of Jamaica (GoJ) is committed to building a green economy. This commitment is envisaged in the country’s long-term development plan, Vision 2030 which seeks to guide the country to achieve its goals of sustainable development and prosperity by 2030.
The national project has resulted in the production of the Green Economy Assessment Scoping Study. The sectors covered in this study were Agriculture, Construction, Energy, Tourism, and Water. These sectors were selected to be the frst for examination under the project, due to their direct impact on the environment as well as their contribution to the economic development of Jamaica
