National Environmentally Sustainable Transport Strategy (NESTS)

The NESTS includes various action plans and each plan has corresponding indicators to measure success in that particular area. For example, in the area of strengthening road side air quality monitoring and assessment, the following indicators were identified in NESTS: (1) Reduction in concentration of criteria pollutants (%), (2) Number of operational roadside air quality monitoring stations, and (3) Number of trained Local Government Unit (LGU). Majority of the indicators do not have specific values since its announcement in May 2011 and the standards have not been widely promulgated yet.
