National Caves and Cave Resources Management and Protection Act (RA 9072)

The law aims to strengthen cooperation and exchange of information between government agencies and people who utilize caves and cave resources for scientific, educational, recreational, tourism, and other purposes.

Cave and cave resource management is supportive of the shift to sustainable consumption and production as it contributes to the efficient and equitable use and allocation of our natural resources. In fact, the conduct of carrying capacity assessments of various ecosystems, including caves, to inform their respective management plans is included among the priority actions in the Philippine Action Plan for Sustainable Consumption and Production (PAP4SCP).
