The Project aims to strengthen capacity of local tourism actors and NGOs to contribute to the sustainable tourism development through partnerships with public and private institutions and create community based sustainable tourism models in Turkey. We provide training, mentoring, planning, technical, and communication support as well as funding to 3 projects every year to make them feasible and sustainable.

Integrating local farmers into the tourism supply chain – The Travel Foundation’s “Taste of Fethiye” project.
The Travel Foundation’s “Taste of Fethiye” five-year project, which was officially handed over in 2016 to FETAV – Fethiye’s tourism, promotion, environment and cultural NGO, provides a replicable model for successfully connecting Fethiye’s local farming communities to the hoteliers and wholesalers in its thriving tourism sector.
The GSTC Sustainable Tourism Training Program (STTP) offered a number of 2- and 3-day intensive and interactive onsite training classes focused on the GSTC Sustainable Tourism Criteria, and engaged tourism industry professionals around the world through expert presentations and discussions on sustainable tourism best practices for businesses and destinations.
The STTP, begining in 2017, offered online scheduled training classes led by GSTC trainers, available at least 4 times a year.
