The Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) and the German Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN) invite to the conference Sustainable Consumption for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services Worldwide. The one-day event will take place on September 30, 2019 in Berlin. The conference launches the study Protecting biodiversity and ecosystem services worldwide through sustainable consumption and invites for discussion.

A Swedish language version of the goals are exhibited on the streets of Linköping.

Nordic youth are now demanding more ambitious and radical action from politicians and decision-makers to bring about change in our current system of production and consumption. But what are the specific concerns, motivations, inspirations, actions, approaches, and demands of this generation of young people in the Nordic countries? To understand this, we must look at both young people in general, but also those who are leading the way.
In 2018, ten families in Umeå were challenged to live without a car for three months. The conclusion was that it was easier than expected. The study was intended for people who have been thinking of reducing their car usage, but who needed a final push to implement the change. The participants were offered a variety of means of transport. The families were interviewed by a researcher. After the test period, three families chose to live without a car, but all participants retained new habits
Earth Charter International is comprised of the ECI Secretariat, its Education Center and the ECI Council. The ECI Secretariat, which is based at the UN-mandated University for Peace in Costa Rica, endeavors to promote the mission, vision, strategies, and policies adopted by the ECI Council.
