Sustainable Tourism Training Program 2020

Due to the various challenges of 2020, the GSTC’s Sustainable Tourism Training Program (STTP) was offering additional options for online courses in response to the current situation. Our training program, and the strong support the industry has continued to show throughout the year, gives a good indication that sustainability is, and despite the global pandemic will continue to be, a priority for tourism industry stakeholders.
The GSTC Sustainable Tourism Training Program (STTP) offers practical insights and effective steps to help you improve your sustainability practices, and in 2020 activities went online. Trainees expected to: ✓ Gain an in-depth knowledge of the GSTC Criteria, the baseline standard for sustainability in travel and tourism. ✓ Make informed decisions on how to implement sustainability practices for your company or destination. ✓ Get ready for developing viable and actionable sustainable tourism policies and practices for your organization. Despite the various challenges 2020 has presented to our industry, we're pleased to share that our training program has had another strong year. Sustainability has been one of the key topics often mentioned when discussing expected post-COVID changes our industry will go through. Our training program, and the strong support the industry has continued to show throughout the year, gives a good indication that sustainability is, and despite the global pandemic will continue to be, a priority for tourism industry stakeholders. In 2019 there were 822 participants in 28 training courses, that took place mostly online. A few onsite training courses took place in countries where possible.
