EVENT: The Role of Ruminants in Sustainable Diets

High-level international speakers report on the latest science to correctly assess the nutritional and environmental implications of ruminant livestock.

Partners in our Sustainable Food Systems Programme, the Belgian Association of Meat Science and Technology (BAMST) has joined hands with the International Dairy Federation (IDF) to host The Role of Ruminants in Sustainable Diets in Brussels on 21 June, 2019. This event attracted an international audience of stakeholders and organizations that are active in the livestock sector, food and environmental policies or related activities. High-level international speakers will report on the latest science to correctly assess the nutritional and environmental implications of ruminant livestock.

BAMST - Belgian Association of Meat Science and Technology

BAMST organizes scientific events and may undertake other activities for advancing this purpose. The mission of BAMST, as an academic non-profit organization, is

  • to establish a network of scientists in the field of meat science and technology
  • to stimulate scientific research dissemination, to a broad public, in the field of meat science and technology

  • to stimulate scientific research, of public interest, in the field of meat science and technology

  • to be a reference for science-based information on all aspects of meat and its role in sustainable food security.

International Dairy Federation 

Today, dairy is one of the most vibrant and strategic sectors, with a major impact on national economies, public health and the environment. The International Dairy Federation is the leading source of scientific and technical expertise for all stakeholders of the dairy chain. IDF engages all stakeholders in productive activities and research projects to further current knowledge and science on a wide range of issues. IDF events offer outstanding learning and networking opportunities and engage various important stakeholders.
