Call for Proposals: UNESCO World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development

This UNESCO World Conference highlights the crucial role of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) as a key enabler for the successful achievement of all SDGs

The 2020 UNESCO World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development will take place in Berlin, Germany from 2 - 4 June, 2020.   

At this years conference, UNESCO is kicking off its new framework: ‘Education for Sustainable Development: Towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals’ – ESD for 2030 and its roadmap for implementation during the UNESCO World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development in Berlin, Germany.

800 participants from around the world will gather for the occasion: policy-makers working in education and sustainable development, education practitioners, civil society, development community and private sector experts.

Call for Proposals

UNESCO is inviting interested stakeholders - policy makers, civil society actors, academics, practitioners, etc - to submit proposals for contributions to the conference.  These contributions may take a few different formats.  One option is to have a booth set up for the duration of the conference, to provide an interactive experience, quizzes and games, innovative technologies, or engaging participants in discussion. 

Interested parties also have the opportunity to apply to host a 60-minute workshop focusing on the practical implementation of ESD and provide concrete guidance for other stakeholders for their future actions - for example showcase replicable actions, pedagogical methodologies, innovative approaches, toolkits or networks. 

UNESCO is accepting applications for booth and workshop proposals until 10 February, 2020.
