“Sustainable Food Systems to achieve Zero Hunger” was the theme of the side event organized by the Sustainable Food Systems Programme co-leads, UN Environment and FAO at the 45th Session of the Committee on World Food Security in Rome.

The participants agreed that, considering the multiple challenges the world is facing, continuing business as usual is no longer an option. To improve food security and nutrition, stakeholder collaboration needs to be taken to the next level to move beyond the status quo: more and longer-term investment in multi stakeholder partnerships is needed as a legitimate and inclusive means to achieve greater food security.
