Flocia Akeyo

I was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya, and moved to Canada for university. I am currently in my final year at the Simon Fraser University in Canada, pursuing a Bachelor of Environment. I have always taken an interest in sustainable development and sustainable lifestyles from a young age. This prompted me to enrol in the Yale Young Global Scholars program where I focused primarily on Sustainability, Energy and Environmental (SEE) seminars. One of my main career-relatd aspirations is to become a professional urban and regional planner because I would love to be part of a team that strives to transform society’s spaces in order to make them healthier and more livable. As a soon-to-be sustainability professional, I believe that everyone has the right to a healthy, clean and safe environment.
