The State of Natural Resource Management in Latin America and the Caribbean

  • Published on December 23, 2014
The report on ‘The State of Natural Resource Management in Latin America and the Caribbean: Opportunities for Sustainable Practices and Prioritisation of Resources', provides an outlook on sustainable natural resource management in Latin America and the Caribbean (GeSRE), especially of the critical resources indicated, and on how stronger awareness and enhanced articulation of key actors and the use of effective tools can contribute to sustainable development in the region. Latin America and the Caribbean is a region with abundant natural resources which places it among the main sources of resources serving the world market. This represents a good opportunity to contribute to the economic development of the countries in this region but it also implies a high responsibility which needs articulated mid- and long-term efforts. The experiences presented give us an optimistic outlook of GESRE in Latin America and the Caribbean which can be replicated in other parts of the world.
