Margherita Finamore

With more than 20 years working in the Building Public Sector on retrofitting cultural heritage, she has been investigating and guiding for sustainability implementation especially in designing and retrofitting schools, school-gyms and social-housing.

Margherita is currently leader of research line on sustainable construction, and responsible for public works at Pesaro Council as project manager using environmental sustainability and energy efficiency design. She is leader of developing the requirement assessment and technical specifications to achieve high values of sustainability and energy savings. Since joining in 1997 her work focuses primarily on sustainable cultural heritage, public buildings and retrofitting projects. She has been involved in international projects cooperating with colleagues from different cultures around the world: France, Belgium, Austria, The United Kingdom, Australia, Romania, Finland among others.

Second year PhD Bradford University (UK) developing the research on the circular economy in the built environment with a special focus on exiting building.

Technical Architect specialist in Historical and Cultural Environment by The Italian National Trust. Graduated in Architecture cum laude (University of Florence)

Her last project achieved 88 scoring LEED Platinum and received the Leadership Award (USGBC) and won the 2020-21 Green Solution Award “Energy and Temperate Climates” prize at the international level at the COP26 in Glasgow.
