Sweden- Green sheet metal roofing on export

  • Published on June 26, 2014
GreenCoat is a patented concept for organic surface coating. Conventional solvents have been replaced by a renewable, reactive solvent that is produced from natural oils, such as rape seed methyl ester, or RME.
To investigate the possibility of using RME as combined solvents and binders in paint. Today, the development of GreenCoat goes on. Attempts are made with higher levels of RME and the paint is tested on other surfaces. - Theoretically, you can paint any material with the color, as long as it withstands heat, for example, it could be used in the engineering industry or on wood. We are alone on this product in the world, and we see tremendous opportunities, says Per-Erik Sundell. The paint contains about 14 percent renewable raw materials and 2013 were 15 percent of SSAB's products painted with Green Coat instead of conventional paint.
