Recognizing an urgency to control the rising urban thirst for water and energy and higher GHG emissions, the project aims to promote water and energy smart lifestyles as an effective strategy towards a low carbon development. (1)Participatory research: participate residents and stakeholders in the research process to clearly show them about their impacts of their daily actions on environment and GHG emission. (2) Demonstration: implement effective approaches to water and energy saving such as the introduction of new devices and behavioral changes. (3)Education and diffusion: share the lessons and ideas gained from research and demonstration and influence decisions at different levels. The project blends research, demonstration and education to motivate residents to act on climate change mitigation by leading a low impact lifestyle. Residents could be motivated towards a low carbon path only if they become conscious about their everyday lifestyle decisions.
